Step 1: Gather Supplies 

Ensure you have NEW sturdy boxes in various sizes, packing tape, packing paper, and markers for labeling. We can drop everything you need off right to your door for the cost of the materials and FREE delivery. 

Step 2: Declutter 

Before packing, declutter and donate or discard items you no longer need or serve a purpose for you. This streamlines your move and reduces packing time.

Step 3: Pack Room by Room 

Start with one room at a time to stay organized. Pack heavier items first, placing them at the bottom of boxes, and lighter items on top. 

Step 4: Protect Fragile Items 

Wrap delicate items like glassware, dishes, and electronics individually with bubble wrap or packing paper. Use extra padding at the bottom and sides of the boxes. View the video for fragile item packing best practices. 

Step 5: Label Clearly 

Label each box with its contents and destination room ON THE SIDE OF THE BOX. This helps our movers place boxes in the correct rooms in your new home and makes finding items easier. 

Step 6: Securely Seal Boxes 

Use quality packing tape to seal boxes securely. Reinforce the bottoms of boxes with extra tape to prevent breakage.

Step 7: Pack Essentials Separately 

Pack a separate box with essentials like toiletries, medications, a change of clothes, and important documents. Keep this box easily accessible.

Step 8: Disassemble Furniture 

If necessary, disassemble large furniture to make it easier to move. Keep screws and hardware in properly labeled bags. Or if you would like to leave this to Miracle Movers we can disassemble your furniture at no extra cost.

Step 9: Label Furniture with Post It Notes Based on Address 

If you have items going to different locations OR some items are being discarded, it’s best if these items are labeled or color-coded so the movers can prioritize what items go into the truck first. 

Step 10: Final Walkthrough 

Before movers arrive, do a final walkthrough to ensure everything is packed and labeled correctly, walkways are clear, and furniture is labeled and disassembled.
